Between July and September 2026, Beit Atfal Assumoud (BAS) has organized the following activities:
July 2026
1. SHINE Summer Camp 2026
Activity: Launch and implementation of the annual SHINE Summer Camp 2026 in partnership with the Palestinian Child Intelligence Foundation (LEAP Program).
Details: The summer camp provided children and adolescents across centers with academic reinforcement, team sports, creative arts, educational field trips, and interactive group workshops.
August 2026
1. 5-Day Inclusive Education Teacher Training
Activity: A specialized 5-day professional development workshop on inclusive learning.
Details: Focused on building skills for educators and center staff to support children with diverse learning needs, enhancing inclusive classroom management, and developing adaptive teaching methods.
2. Honoring Dr. Najla Bashour ("Suns That Never Set")
Activity: A tribute ceremony held under the theme "Suns That Never Set" (شموسٌ لا تغيب).
Details: Celebrated and recognized Dr. Najla Bashour for her lifelong contributions to early childhood education, Palestinian child welfare, and social care initiatives.
September 2026
1. Youth Career Guidance Day: "Your Future Begins with a Step"
Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Rashidieh Center
Partners: Al-Jana Center (BRAVE Project), supported by UNICEF
Details: Organized a career orientation event under the slogan "Your Future Begins with a Step" (مستقبلك يبدأ بخطوة) to guide youth in career planning, skill alignment, and navigating local educational and employment pathways.
2. "Voices from the Camp 2026" Graduation Ceremony & Final Event
Dates: September 12 & September 15, 2026
Key Guests: Prof. Dr. Jad Melki (Professor of Journalism and Media Studies, Director of the Media Research and Training Institute)
Details:
September 12: Held the formal completion ceremony and presentation of student media/storytelling projects.
September 15: Hosted the final closing ceremony showcasing student short films, media productions, and creative project presentations produced during the program.
3. Right to Play Delegation Visit
Date: September 16, 2026
Partner: Right to Play
Details: Hosted an official delegation from Right to Play to review joint cooperative projects, inspect ongoing psychosocial support initiatives, and strengthen child protection and play-based learning frameworks across centers.
