Borj Al Shemali Center - Leap program - Weekly activities

On 7 July 2018, Borj Al Shemali Center organized a meeting for LEAP Program volunteers with some elderly from Palestine who lived the Nakba period and they spoke about the massacres against Palestinian people and how they were displaced from their home land.

Borj Al Shemali Center began implementing the LEAP Program on 9 July 2018. The program will continue until 13 August 2018 and aims to help 208 students study the English language. The program provides English language lessons and trains students to improve their language skills, including reading, writing, and analysis.

It is open for students from 7th to 9th grade. The students also participate in daily entertainment activities and field trips on Fridays.

In Burj al-Shemali, the Program included several activities, particularly the documentation of success stories achieved by the center in the past years, and the preservation of Palestinian heritage by creating a Palestinian cook book.

On 11 July 2018, Borj Al Shemali Center organized a meeting for LEAP Program volunteers with some social activists from the camp. The main idea of this meeting was to educate the volunteers about the situation of refugees in the camp and their rights in Lebanon.
